I've done this with once with Solaris 2.7 and Solaris 2.8. Theoretically Solaris, 'gurantees' binary compatibility between Solaris options.

I don't recall all the details.. I believe i made sure both were either 32bit or 64bit, I also made sure Oracle was compiled on 2.7 not 2.8 (I believe I actually did try the other way around, and it didn't work).. and of course i tested with a test db.

I would be extremely careful though.
