Mr. Bunce is doing no such thing, as a search of the dbi-users mailing
list archives would show (also searchable via
http://groups.google.com/group/perl.dbi.users).
I have repeatedly said that I'm happy to accept patches to implement
the array interface (and/or other enhancements) for DBD::Oracle. People
have contacted me over the years offering to do it, all have received
my best wishes and help, but none have followed through sufficiently.
See
http://www.mail-archive.com/cgi-bin/htsearch?config=dbi-dev_perl_org&words=Kristian+Nielsen
for examples of the work that has been done in the past.
(There have certainly been periods where I have not been able to devote development time to DBD::Oracle, but I don't believe that's the issue here. I've also asked, on dbi-dev_at_perl.org I think, if someone else was willing to take over as lead maintainer of DBD::Oracle. I'm currently working with one likely candidate.)
Bart the bear seems intent on spreading ill informed conjecture. I hope that's not intentional. For more details and followups see http://groups.google.com/group/perl.dbi.users/browse_thread/thread/e15d0e9ecc5880ea/fc7c403d629391af?lnk=raot&hl=en#fc7c403d629391af
Tim Bunce.
p.s. I don't follow this newsgroup. DBD::Oracle is supported via the dbi-users_at_perl.org mailing list (note that posts to perl.dbi.users newsgroup do _not_ get through to the mailing list). I'm posting here only because someone was kind enough to point out to me the misinformation being posted in this thread. Received on Wed Dec 07 2005 - 19:11:09 CST
