That essentially what I did in the OP. My problem is that the explain plan being chosen by the optimizer when I actually run the SQL appears to be different than what explain plan says it's going to choose. I'm determining this with sqltrace and tkprof. Is the execution plan reported by tkprof guaranteed to be what actually executed? Received on Tue Dec 06 2005 - 14:10:00 CST
