For starters, one set of CDs you purchase from Microsoft and it says something like 'Microsoft Windows 2003 Server" with a hologram on it. The other you might download as a set of .isos from a mirror of a site like http://whiteboxlinux.org or http://www.centos.org.
If you're going to learn to use Linux, you're going to need to start
with reading the manual. You can largely get away without doing that on
win32 OSes.
For installing Oracle on Linux, here is a good place to start:

Your question might have been better phrased as "is there anything in
common between Microsoft 32 bit operating systems and 32 bit Linux
distributions?".
I would answer: "the hardware, and the fact that you can run Oracle on
both. and Bash (if you use Cygwin)". Everything else is different.
