Though I'm on the BAARF list, I must admit some 5 works ok as Bob Jones says. Cache magic. Sometimes the salespeople don't know they're not lying, too.

Yes I've seen batches of bad disks and bad controllers and management touching things in a bad way, but I've seen all that with JBOD, too.
