You're right. That column is only available in 10g. It won't work on OP's database (9i).

dbfsize reports the size and block size of datafiles, logfiles and controlfiles as viewed by Oracle. The size should be one block size smaller than viewed by OS, which uses the first block for OSD layer information. (Although the concept of block size is not commonly used for controlfiles and logfiles, it does exist.)
