ASM and Backups

We are currently running 10g using ASM on a Sun V880. Oracle recommends using RMAN to do a backup and store the backup files within the ASM storage area. My question is how to copy the backup to a remote location (e.g., to another box) so if the box or room catches on fire we have another copy?

The Admin group has Netbackup 4.5, which can copy files remotely (from one box to another), but I don't believe that it will run on ASM. Does anyone know of a third party backup utility that can work with ASM? Received on Fri Oct 28 2005 - 08:00:56 CDT
