Eugene,

Just because the options are specified in the boot.ini does not imply that they are honored by the operating system kernel. The /3GB switch is honored by ms w2k3 server standard edition. AFAIK, the /PAE switch is honored by ms w2k3 server enterprise edition. These are microsoft operating system questions.

Check the registry to see what options are listed:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SystemStartOptions

If using more memory is your primary goal, I'd suggest using a different operating system on a 64 bit processor.
