Obviously the equivalent features on both databases are somewhat different and would require some training if they are used. But since the application is already developed, and the OP only has to support an existing application, then it is irresponsible to mention the features you mentioned (or the DB2 equivalents) unless you know the application is using them.

DB2 backup, recovery, runstats, and reorg, and tablespace management (if more space is needed) can easily be learned by a Oracle DBA in one week, assuming they already are knowledgeable in the OS. Scripts for these may even be provided by the developer/vendor of the DB2 application.

You statements about DB2 being different on all operating systems is the half-truth you perpetuate over and over, based solely on DB2 for iSeries (AS400) which Oracle does not even have, and DB2 for z/OS which Oracle does "have" but very few use because Oracle runs poorly on z/OS in a production environment.

DB2 for Linux, UNIX (AIX, Solaris, HP/UX), and Windows is the same on all operating systems. Unlike Oracle, DB2 releases and fixpacks are always available at the same time on all supported Linux, UNIX and Windows operating systems, unlike Oracle which can take a year to release the same code on all Linux, UNIX and Windows platforms.
