And the whole point of my post (I thought that I had stressed it at the time) was to *_try_* or *_attempt_* to get beyond the "bull market share measures and statistics" and come up with an idea of how to get real market share data, rather than just relying on presss releases.

When asking database related questions, please give other posters 
some clues, like operating system, version of db being used and DDL.
The exact text and/or number of error messages is useful (!= "it didn't work!").
