Netcat

hi ,

      while googling i came across an utility named "netcat" , is it advisable to use it on Production Server running Oracle ? My requrement is netcat will listen on particular port and as soon as it accepts some data , it will execute one script to load that data into oracle. Is it advisable to run netcat to achive this on Production server ?
