No version number?

If 9i no it is not. You don't have a sharable file system unless you go to raw devices. If 10g ten yes.

RAC, however, has to do with shared storage and your statements about sub-net, etc. indicate a lack of understanding of RAC and how it works. I'd suggest a quick trip to http://tahiti.oracle.com for some reading on concepts.
