The replies you received were most helpful, because they pointed out that you are not asking the right question in the first place. The *least* helpful reply would be to simply answer your misguided question.

What is the point of knowing what the problem is if no one is willing and able to act on that knowledge?

What do you think the DBWR is contending with? If you only have one DBWR, I can see how it could be bored, or be overhelmed, but how could it be contentious?

Anyway, I don't think DBWR could affect the hit ratio except under very bizarre situations in which its affect on the hit ratio is the least of your problems. Even then, I'm not sure it could.
