I would suggest that the SysAdmin's preferences are neither the best
value, nor the best for performance or stability. In fact I'll go
further and suggest that backing up to tape is far from best
practice. I'd recommend you find someone whose knowledge of industry
practices around Oracle is current and get the S/A some training.
