Hi All,

I am running oracle 8.1.7.4 db (is 32bits oracle)  on solaris 5.9 (64 bits platform).

I am running out of data-files soon.
I hope to recreate my controlfile to increase the number of max datafiles in the instance.

But I am wondering after recreate controlfile. I have to start RMAN (backup) from scratch, since I am not using catalog db to store RMAN's information.

That mean RMAN is storing information in the controlfile. I am just wondering is there anything special things (or command)
I have to do for the RMAN backup?????
Or to RMAN, it look like a brand new database.

I am going to test on a small instance.. first.
