It provides several possibilities, the first one being 'did you install Advanced Security?'.

While I sympathize with your plight, there are many ways of getting access to Metalink legally and inexpensively. Several are discussed in the group's archives. If you really want to use such features (even just for learning), you really should get a support contract.
