OID that comes with the Application server suite is an LDAP V3 compliant product. It is also marketed currently as part of Oracle's Identity Managment Solution with has SSO functionality. In addition OID is the replacement for Oracle Names who has been discontinued as of the 10g release. You can download it from the Oracle site and play with it. It is not difficult to install but may take some reading to configure and manage it. The links below should get you started.
