Joel ,i dont have an idea of what WAMU is ??(Ahh got it in google search).You got a pretty good reference of metalink notes.   Not a disk saturation at all as data,logs and arch laid out on raw volumes with seperate vgs and good stripes, the real culprit seems to be the log sizes and more than that the network bandwidth.
