Hi,

I use SSH to tunnel through to the production system all the time through port 1521 and it works every time.

There are two types of connections, bequeath and redirect. I haven't done any digging to find out what's going on (why rock the boat?) but my guess is that bequeathing is happening (that's sounds nasty!).
