Please don't multipost/crosspost. Most people read all the c.d.oracle groups.

Pick one group and stick to it, changing only if you are told that the forum is inappropriate. .misc *_OR_* .server is appropriate.

When asking database related questions, please give other posters 
some clues, like operating system, version of db being used and DDL.
The exact text and/or number of error messages is useful (!= "it didn't work!").
