Trying to sort of keep a sense of direction here's what I see:

Physician ... goes to medical school ... graduates DBA/developer ... takes and passes the OCP ... graduates

Physician ... takes a residency for practical experience DBA/developer ... finds a job and hacks at it until good enough or learns to say "do you want fries with that"

Physician ... passes a medical review board of his or her peers DBA/developer ... doesn't get fired, laid-off, or off-shored

The OCP has a place. It just is no substitute for the equivalent of a residency. And that is a program our profession desparately needs.
