As AK aludes there are some possible drawbacks to overuse: data
inconsistencies, self-locking, and strange errors, but Autonomous
transactions are useful in several circumstances besides just error
logging.  Another valid use is auditing where attempts to change a
record (row) are logged and not just commited changes.
