After some thought i think i have got it. What i was thinking was The archive log contains data till yesterday and my redo log contains data till today. If my database crashes and restarts again then it can use the redo log files to restore the data, and hence i thought it would be better to backup the redo files. But after giving some thought , i came to the conclusion that instead of taking backups of redo files, i better archive it.
