Hi, I know this error has been posted many times before but I really
couldn't find anything that helped. I'd really appreciate any help in
tracking down and resolving my problem:
I put the 10_1 instant client on a Win2k server. I added the path to the executable to the PATH environment variable. When executing sqlplus I get an ORA-12541 error.
I did this on an WinXP machine and it works, but I need it on the aforementioned Win2k box. Below is my tnsnames.ora file and one example from the sqlnet.log. For security I'v replaced hostnames etc with #.
#please note the username passed to SQLPLUS is not the username
#that is listed in the sqlnet.log file, that lists my windows
#username: USER=twatson which I don't understand since I'm trying
#to log in with USR123
C:\oracle\instantclient10_1>SQLPLUS USR123/PASS123_at_WRS
#tnsnames.ora file
