Hot and Cold backups

Please advise on how the Hot and cold Backups will help me in the
following Scenarios


Suppose i have taken a backup on MONDAY of datafiles, control files,
archive files and redo log files ( i know it is not advisable to take
backup of redo log files)



And the following happens on TUESDAy


1. My control file gets corrupted.



2. My control file and redo log file gets corrupted.
