Yes, in the thread link above from 2002, Daniel seems shocked that someone
would say that separting tables and indexes makes no performance
dififfernce.
Here is the exact statment that Daniel posted:
"can't believe it [separation of indexes from their tables is a management nicety, not a performance necessity] either. Please explain Howard.
And please don't just throw out jargon like RAID and striping. This statement appears to fly in the face of more than a few books by well respected authors (not that you aren't one yourself now) as well as a lot of HTM and PDF files put out on technet."
