Pretty easy.
For database, cluster or not does not matter. So,
you just install another oracle copy, without RAC linked in, and shutdown RAC, shutdown cluster, startup oracle with the non-rac option and make it running.

And then install your new hacmp/aix on the other node, failover your database to the installed node, and install aix/hacmp on the second node, configure rac, install another copy (maybe simply relink existing RAC_ORACLE_HOME?), and shutdown the database, and ...

If you got a third node, just failover your existing database to the third node, and install your new aix/hacmp and failover back. Received on Tue Jul 05 2005 - 05:36:05 CDT
