If you pre-create all the objects before the import it doesn't matter what compress option you use.
The compress=n means to re-use the creation parameters that existed in
the original database. It is possible that those are bogus, especially
if they came from a previous compress=y (perhaps a once-large table has
shrunk, or more tables have been added alphabetically before the table
in question).

It can also help to create the indices after the import, both in performance and forehead-slapping index and rollback storage parameters. Your rollback segments may need the size of the table and all its indices at one time with compress=y.
