getting perl to work with oracle

from what I have read, i need to install oracle instant client on my linux 
box and set some environ variables to get perl to talk to oracle ?



    
  
  1.   Engage Oracle.pm
  
  2.   Download and install instant client
  
  3.   Set oracle home etc






Anybody done this ?
