imp - BLOB - reduce imp time

We have many tables that contain BLOBS and when it comes to move data from production to dev exp/imp is often the best way to do this. during exp i set BUFFER to be 1048576 and i also set this during my imp -

The imp takes rather a long time, around 2 hours for 6 gig, as i would expect but are there any tips to reduce the amount of time taken to import BLOBS ? Import files and datafiles are on different disks and performance is very good when importing anything other than BLOBS.
