Hi,

Just like to add that,

Oracle ALWAYS writes the redo records into the redolog file for any change BEFORE it actually makes the changes in the buffer cache and flushes the block to disk. Unless you are using a NOLOGGING clause, redo is written before undo.

Would suggest you download the Concepts Manual from OTN and read it top to bottom.

If a transaction does not commit and your PC/Server crashes then your change(s) are lost forever.
