If I may interrupt for a second ... why? Why replicate to workstations? This is a horrible security and audit issue and what does it get you? Why can't these users work inside the database where they belong?

And the Oracle version is? Because if 9i or 10g you should be thinking a very different technology. It is important to know the version before answering.
