The Oracle Donkey (A spoof of a great ode: The Jabberwocky)
'Twas Four O'clock, and the software newbies
Did search the internet frantically
Hysterical were the DBAs
Whose databases crashed dramatically.
Beware the Oracle Donkey, new one!
The posts that CHANGE, the RULES of THUMB,
Beware cohorts that blog, and shun
The rants that are just plain DUMB.
He took to forum posts, long time
To garner a retraction he sought-
Ne'er resting after CDOS exits
He stood amongst his peers and thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Oracle Donkey, with posts aflame
Came blundering through the forums and blogs
Confusing all as it came.
One! Two! One Two! And through and through
His logic quickly went snicker-snack!
Though completely rebuffed, 'Twas not enough
The Oracle Donkey came galumping back.
Good fellows, Lewis and Rogers were; Hail Kyte,
and Foot, Litchfield and all; For years
Their generous smacks of Oracle facts
Fell thunderously upon the Donkey's ears.
And yet the Donkey still maintains
That science fails, and logic falls
Obfuscation and waffle-ing remains
The Rule Of Thumb in Donkey's halls.
So heralded in forums wide, and long
Proposed in numerous blogs and threads;
Seek Oracle advice, new one, from those
That prove theirs are the wiser heads.
'Twas Four O'clock, and the software newbies
Did search the internet frantically
Hysterical were the DBAs who chose
To follow the advice of the Oracle Donkey.
