David,

To not have told him to shutdown the database instance and create a cold backup set of what he had, prior to taking any actions is (IMHO) really messed up.

Its still his fault of course because he's the one running the scripts ... but one cannot assume that someone posting here even knows enough to have good backups, particularly when one sees the datafiles under the product location on win32.

Fortunately from the logfile he didn't trash anything yet.

OP - get your backups squared away before you do anything.
