Automating RMAN

Hi,

We now use RMAN to back up. We will keep one full week on disk, and 2 weeks on tape.

I was searching the net for some commands to automate the cleanup of the recovery catalog.

Once 2 weeks have passed, the older backups are not needed. They have already been delete from disk, as we only keep one week on disk, but their entries are still in the catalog.

Is there a command to basically tell RMAN to delete catalog entries older than X date, or have a redundancy factor > 2?

I know there are all these reporting and listing commands, but I do not see anything that combines the report & change commands to delete entries that meet some reporting criteria....

Thanks in advance Received on Thu May 12 2005 - 15:26:25 CDT
