hello Pavle,

8.1.7 client talks to 9.2 and 8.1.7 database. 9.2 client talks to 9.2 and 8.1.7 database.

The second option is perhaps preferable; for obvious reasons; but not required.
And SQLcode is not downward compatible; has no relation to the client.
