Thanks for the feedback. I will recereate the controlfile (i.e. alter
database backup controlfile to trace) and use the new controlfile to
clear out the old data from v$archived_log. The old sequence#'s are
causing some problem's with a backup script that I'm using that query's
v$archived_log.
