Any answer you can get here will say in some point : "Better if you first use the patch under a test environment, wich means an exactly same machine with the same version of Oracle." If something is going wrong, it doesnt??t matter, it??s not the production machine.
I think the patch should come with some README or other document files, maybe you could find some ideas there.
Is my idea that patch won??t fail if doesn??t fail if doesn??t find the JDK_HOME environment. And, most od the Oracle patchs you can desinstall any time.
