The oracle version is 8.1.7.

I will be checking on the latch contention. Thanks for the advice.

I have measured this query using SQL Time every fifteen minutes over a period of 24 hours.

The reason why i am asking about this query is becuase you are right this query is executed a upto 10,00,000 times in one hour.

In such a scenario, how do you think latch contention for this query can be avoided ?

This is the application requirement.
