I didn't interpret Daniel's statement to imply that an insert statement is DDL. From my perspective, his reply simply asks for the OP to provide more specific information such that he (or anyone else) can reproduce before offering a solution. He could have put "DML" before the insert statement, but I didn't find it necessary because the point of his post was clear.
