RMAN Recovery Question

Hi All,

I wanted to ask a question about RMAN that I needed a bit more explanation about.

I understand how RMAN works and all, but, what does RMAN do regarding the online redo logs?

Say for example that I need to recover my database. I can catalog any archive logs not already in the RMAN catalog. But, what about committed transactions that are in the online redo logs that have not been archived yet? What does RMAN do, or how does it know and treat those transactions?
