Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Oracle SGA size on i386 platforms
Hi All,
Just wondering if I can get some clarification on SGA size limits in Oracle 9i running on i386 based platforms (Windows and Linux). I've been told there is a 2Gb limit on both these platforms - though there does seem to be some workarounds under windows which will allow you to get to 3Gb.
Can anyone confirm or refute this claim? We are planning to move from Tru64 to another platform, but one of our applications uses a 4Gb SGA (which we would like to increase even further). I've looked through some documentation, but haven't found a clear anser to this question.
Also, if anyone knows of any 'gotchas' for Oracle running on Windows, I'd like to hear about them. We have no experience with Oracle on windows and would be interested in anything you may be able to contribute.
