You can subscribe to the Oracle-L mailing list at www.freelists.org.
The list is active and is frequented by several very  knowledgable
people.  While there are many newbie questions there are also a fair
number of more complex, indepth discussions of internal activities in
the shared pool, reading trace files, and other sometimes useful
tidbits.
