PL/SQL performance when ompiled with debug

Hi NG,
we had 2 occurances of problems related with pl/sql programs compiled with debug (oracle 9.2 on windows and solaris). In both cases the CPU usage of the entire application (which makes heavy use of pl/sql) almost doubled. After recompiling without debug everything was fine again. Is there a general experience of the performance impact?

TIA
