It's been done; search the freebsd-databases mailing list (via www.freebsd.org).

One quick-and-dirty way is to install it on a RH3 system on a directory shared via NFS with a FreeBSD box. I haven't tried this, but I've seen several messages announcing success.

The base linux emulation on FreeBSD has changed from 7 to 8 since there are security problems with 7 that won't be fixed and I don't know how that will affect the installation.

(I use FreeBSD 5.3-STABLE at home)
