A 'uname -a' should suffice.

Actually I believe this kind of system check a myth. Only the RDA could perform a similar control (the only one requested when you open a tar) but it is not so "smart".
I'm not aware of any MD5 checksome (or SHA1 or whatsover) performed on my systems.

Oracle support sometime looks for the kind of kernel modules loaded in your system. They don't like tainted kernels (so if some HP developer is reading...).
