Hi,

I'm trying to set up Oracle's Connection Manager (Oracle 10G on linux) and it seems that I'm stuck with a funny problem: When I try to start the service I always get the message
"TNS-04012: Unable to start Oracle Connection Manager instance."

The log file (cman_<hostname>_alert.log) says:

CMAN for Linux: Version 10.1.0.3.0 - Production on 01-MAR-2005 14:33:43

Copyright (c) 1996, 2004, Oracle. All rights reserved.

(LOG_RECORD=(TIMESTAMP=01-MAR-2005 14:33:43)(EVENT=CMAN.ORA not present))

I have looked for the problem in cman.ora and in that course I have removed everything except:

cman =
(configuration=
  (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=<db-server>)(port=1521)))

I suspect this must be something very trivial - so maybe someon can give me a broad hint.

Thanks a lot,
