Sorry it just seems like you have already made your mind up without spending enough time getting familiar with rman. Crossing a street appears dangerous until you learn the rules.

Any product needs maintenance periodically. I looked at the note you cited and it looks like everything noted there is like 9.2.0.4 or before aka a year old or more.

Is it one of your team members that is anti rman or have you already made your mind up?

Establish a test system and start learning and benchmarking. If you have as many databases as you say and you are not currently using rman, maybe you cannot afford not to start getting a knowledge base.

RMAN was pretty much un-useable in version 8.0 and very buggy in 8.1.x not disagreement. It is a lot better now. Received on Sat Feb 26 2005 - 11:21:03 CST
