Oracle backup/recovery

This is more about the recovery aspect. I have a database in archivelog mode
and we are doing hot backups. Is it possible to do a restore without a cold
backup as a baseline? Assume you do hotbackups every night, and you keep 2
weeks worth of backups. Additionally, you backup all log files.
Now, your system crashes. Without a cold backup are you hosed?
