Sorry only you and oracle support can tell us what is really the problem.

You can use the RMAN "backup validate check logical database" command ... (doesn't take a backup).

Then you can query against v$database_block_corruption and/or v$backup_corruption views ... (identifying blocks).

RMAN at your release level can fix the corrupted blocks (probably ... test on a test system first). The command "blockrecover corruption list" may be what you want.

Research it and before doing anything unfamiliar/untested by you work with oracle support until you understand situation. Received on Tue Feb 22 2005 - 12:24:34 CST
